Medium Gallery was established on January 8, 1991 as part of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. MEDIUM performs not only the traditional function of the gallery (with an exhibition area of 173 m2), but also works as a communication space of the VŠVU with out-of-school overlaps. Exhibition activities form a part of and at the same time an extension of the concept of artistic-pedagogical process. They are focused on all current art locations, in line with a wide range of school disciplines.
The quality of the program is guaranteed by the Gallery Board (appointed for 2 years), composed of three representatives of the school, the gallery manager and one external member who selects from the submitted projects. Selection of exhibition projects takes place once a year (in October). The main criterion for their approval and implementation is quality, with the aim of maintaining a balance between the presentation of students, students, teachers and school teachers. partner schools, curatorial concepts and exhibitions of established artists and artists from home and abroad.
